God is good, God does good things but what I would consider good things someone else wouldn't. I feel he's always with us. |

In the past I thought if you did bad things you wouldn't go to heaven . Now I know that God loves you no matter what you do, and I believe you can go to heaven as long as you do what God wants you to do. Just recently I have went back to church. |

It seems to me people lived by different standards in the Old Testament than in the New Testament. Why do you think our all knowing God would have allowed it to be this way?... |
|
It's hard for us to think that at one time there were holy men who had more than one wife. We can't imagine why God would allow that kind of
behavior before Christ but not after. What changed the rules? When God created Adam and Eve there was only one rule...Do not eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Once that rule was broken
man began to sin more and more. When Cain killed Abel he was confronted by God. But God did not tell Cain he had committed a sin, He simply asked "Where is your brother?" Cain's snide remark was "Am I my brother's keeper?" God punished Cain because it was wrong but there was no law stating it was wrong. As the years went by, man lived on this earth without any laws and he lived nearly a thousand years. So man had lots of time to become reprobate. Imagine if we did not have the laws we have today. What if we did not have the Ten Commandments which all other laws stem from. No wonder God pulled out the last Godly man, put him on an ark and destroyed all of man kind so He could start over again. I don't believe that God ever approved of men having more than one wife. I don't believe he approved of concubines or harems. Yet Solomon had several wives and concubines and he is considered one of the patriarchs of the Christian faith. Before Christ came, there was no grace. If a man committed a sin he had to shed the
blood of an animal to cover his sin. When those men died, they did not go to heaven, they went to Abraham's bossom just across the abyss of hell. But when Jesus came it was the first time God walked with man
since Adam and Eve sinned. Jesus came to renew our fellowship with Him. He came to teach us how to live, how to pray, how to worship and how to love God. Jesus told us to be holy just as He is holy. Jesus brought us grace not law. So if we live under grace why can't we have
more than one wife? Why can't we do whatever we want and then just ask for forgivenss before we go to bed at night? Because for the first time, God did not dwell in temples but He lives in us. When we ask Jesus to forgive us our sins, the Holy Spirit (like sperm) penetrates
our hearts (the egg) and instantly we are born again. We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. The Spirit bears witness with us that we are the sons of God. We now have the Holy Spirit directing us to be holy and not sin. Without God's written word, the ten commandments and the Holy Spirit that lives in us, we would be as lawless as the people before Noah. So rather than ask why people before Jesus didn't get in trouble for doing things that we now know are wrong, ask how should I live so that other's see Christ in me? The Holy Spirit will tell you
how to live. |

God's Word clearly teaches us that sexual relations with the same sex is a sin. God also tells us that relations outside of marraige are sin. The problem with human nature is if it is left to itself, it can justify anything. God gave us commandments and rules for living so that when we try to justify our sin we have a standard to compare to. Do you realize that when Adam and Eve was created there was only one rule: Don't eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It seems so simple. Why were they tempted when they had so many things they could do? Because human nature doesn't ask it demands. So getting back to the original question, should homosexuals be allowed into the church and should they be leaders? Do we allow alcoholics, liars, adulterers and fornicators to come through the church doors? The answer is yes. We may not be aware of the sins in people's lives but everyone sufferes with their own temptations and sins. The question should be, do we allow blatant homosexuals into our congregation? I would say an infatic no. Welcome anyone who is seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ but turn away those whose intent is to undermine the Church and our God. In the same way, any known homosexual should not be allowed to be a leader in the church unless they repent of their sin and stop doing it. If you know someone is committing adultry don't allow them to be a leader until they repent of their sin and stop. This is such a fine line to walk. On the one hand we are to show love and mercy just as Jesus Christ has shown us love and mercy. We need to love the sinner and despise the sin. This can only be done through lots of prayer on our part. As Christians we need to state the facts, while not pointing a finger. It is never easy to stand against sin in a world where sin is rampant. But we have a long list of ancestors who stood for morality and Christ even to the point of death. Our motto should be love but don't allow. |

How do you feel about gay marriage in the church or gay people joining the clergy?... |
|
That question has arised alot of controversy but I am not predujice or anything but I have always believed that man and woman should be married not the way they potray it in the news. In the church I dont believe marraige with gays should be allowed but it is okay if gay people join the clergy as long as they don't exhibit their sexual orientation. |
